Motorhome insurance news: Scottish family plan European adventure

8 March 2010
A couple from the Scottish Highlands are preparing for a voyage of discovery around Europe this summer.

Motorhome insurance customers may be inspired by the travel plans of Graham and Val Nash, who purchased their vehicle for a once-in-a-lifetime trip, the Aberdeen Press and Journal reports.

With 13-year-old son Rory in tow, the couple will be heading to the continent in a six-berth motorhome later this year.

"There may only be three of us travelling, but we wanted to make sure we had as much room as possible, even if it is only the size of our kitchen at home," Graham told the newspaper.

He also explained that the freedom provided by their vehicle will allow the family to take a relatively relaxed approach to their travel schedule.

"The only thing that's definite is the ferry crossing from Dover to Calais - the rest is open," the 47-year-old from Achnasheen in Ross-shire said.

Graham and his wife are particularly excited about the trip because they have each travelled abroad just once before.

The Camping and Caravanning Club recently published its Summer Camping 2010 brochure, which contains six new overseas destinations.
