Motorhome insurance customers hoping to spend some quality time with the family this summer may wish to point their vehicles in the direction of the Midlands.
Carol Rowntree Jones, media relations officer at the National Forest which covers 200 square miles in the heart of England said there are dozens of activities on offer this summer.
She noted that one of the main attractions is the Conkers visitor centre, based in Derbyshire.
"Conkers will have all kinds of activities over the summer holidays for children whether its pond dipping, mini beast hunting or going out with the rangers, as well as fun making things like butterflies on sticks or little performances in the amphitheatre," Ms Rowntree Jones explained.
There is also a camping and caravanning site, meaning visitors can stay over and make the most of the spectacular countryside there.
According to the National Forest's summer newsletter, a great way to explore the area is by taking an open-top bus ride.
