Motorhome insurance customers visiting Glasgow will be spoilt for choice when it comes to events and cultural attractions, it has been claimed.
Scott Taylor, chief executive of the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, noted that when Liverpool was European Capital of Culture in 2008, there were 25 per cent more events being held in Glasgow.
"Our investment in the city in culture is enormous and in music, there's 124 music events going on each week. There's tons of live music, it's just brilliant. The music side of Glasgow is absolutely huge," he commented.
Mr Taylor pointed out that the Scottish city is not an expensive place to visit, with many local restaurants offering extremely competitive prices.
Figures published earlier this week by VisitBritain revealed that although London and Edinburgh are the most popular tourist destinations in the UK, hotspots such as Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow are attracting rising numbers of people.
