Caravan insurance customers may be interested to know that 45 per cent of MPs plan to take a summer holiday in the UK this year.
This is according to the first parliamentary holiday survey from ABTA - The Travel Association, which found that Scotland is the most popular location for domestic holidays among the nation's politicians.
It also revealed that 50 per cent of MPs and 41 per cent of peers in the House of Lords enjoy two holidays each year.
Commenting on the survey, ABTA chairman John McEwan said it "clearly shows that a summer break and other holidays throughout the year are as important for our political representatives as for the rest of us".
When asked about protecting the environment during their vacations, 77 per cent of peers said they try to go green when on holiday, compared with 67 per cent of MPs.
Caravan owners heading to Scotland for a break this summer may like to try South Ardittie Farm at Methven, a Camping and Caravanning Club certified site near Perth.
