  • Make a caravan holiday in Europe

    Lists are wonderfully helpful things. Make one of your exact requirements, to suit you.

    Your driving licence is up to date, isn’t it? While you’re checking your paperwork, do make sure your own home insurance covers you for extended periods away.

    Book your car and caravan in for a service for around a month before you’re due to head off. And do check both your car insurance and caravan insurance covers you for travel abroad.

    Do leave yourself plenty of time to arrive at your ferry port. There is always going to be an element of hanging around at these places, so make sure you have something to do while you’re there – even if it’s writing those last-minute postcards!

    Establish whether your current gas set-up is adequate for your needs abroad, before you travel. Likewise for electricity. In all likelihood, there will be few problems, if any, but it all goes back to peace of mind.

    Be wary of opening hours for outlets such as shops and fuel stations. Although credit cards are wonderful for international payments, do take some cash with you for smaller emergencies. And treats!
